The Salmon River and its
watershed cover approximately 8,000 hectares (or about 25% of the
surface area of Langley). A small portion of the upper reaches of
the river lie in Matsqui. The river flows for 33 km in a
northwesterly direction through the area north of Aldergrove and the
Salmon River Uplands before turning more northerly to pass through the
Fort Langley floodplain and enter the Fraser just west of Fort Langley.
Tributaries of the Salmon include Coghlan Creek, Davidson Creek (Ditch),
Otter Creek, and Union Creek.
